Whenever I host a community-wide 7-Day Added Sugar Detox or discuss it on my channels, I receive a lot of questions about the rules and the goals. As a registered dietitian who emphasizes intuitive, sustainable eating, I want to be clear: this challenge is meant to improve your everyday eating habits and help you learn what you’re putting into your body. It’s not intended to deprive you of nutrients or make you feel uncomfortable. My goal is to give you practical tools so you can make lasting progress on your health and fitness journey.
Our bodies are naturally equipped to process and eliminate toxins, so I don’t promote extreme cleanses. However, added sugars are a major concern in the Standard American Diet (SAD), and that’s why I created this guide. The How-To ebook changed the way my family and I view ingredients. After completing it, I noticed less bloating, improved skin, better sleep, more stable energy, and an overall brighter mood. That’s why I’m confident recommending this seven-day reset: it’s a short, eye-opening experiment that reveals how much added sugar exists in everyday foods and drinks—and how much better you can feel without those sweeteners.
Hundreds of thousands of people have completed the 7-Day Added Sugar Detox. If you’re curious, you can find the guide here. I also host private Facebook groups for extra support during community detoxes and send updates via newsletter when the next group challenge is scheduled—these group events usually happen every few months.
Below is a curated list of favorite no-added-sugar or low-sugar recipes that complement the 22 recipes already included in the ebook. Most of my recipes follow the same low-sugar approach, but I thought a short collection might make it easier for you to plan meals during the detox. If you have questions, leave a comment; I’ll respond and support you along the way.
