There is still a great deal of work to be done to support the Black community, and I’m committed to continuing to discover and share Black-owned businesses. Below is a curated list of brands I personally love and recommend. If you have additional suggestions or resources, please share them in the comments so we can expand this list together.
Barcode
Barcode is a performance beverage brand I’m obsessed with. My partner and I invested early because we believe in their product and the team—Bar, the founder, is a Performance Coach for the LA Lakers. These drinks capture the nostalgic taste of sports beverages from childhood but are much better: plant-based, powered by adaptogens, and supplemented with vitamin D. The lemon-lime flavor is my favorite, and the watermelon is excellent too. Barcode is great to drink before, during, and after workouts or anytime you need a flavorful boost. Use the code Rachael on their site for a discount.
Briogeo
I prioritize clean, non-toxic ingredients that actually work, and Briogeo delivers. I’ve been using their deep conditioning mask and conditioner for over a year, and they’ve revived my hair—especially helpful in cold, dry climates. Their formulas are effective without compromising on ingredient quality.
Golde
Golde blends food and beauty using superfood ingredients. Their supplements and mixes make healthy routines taste delicious. The turmeric latte is a standout—comforting, flavorful, and easy to incorporate into your day.
The Fit Cook
I’ve followed @fitmencook for years for his practical, flavorful recipes and engaging cooking videos. He now offers a range of teas, spices, and cookware. I’m especially eyeing an organized lunch box that makes meal prep and transport simple and stylish.
Oh Happy Dani
I discovered Dani in 2020 and have loved her uplifting designs ever since. Her positive graphics are joyful and accessible, and she has a full collection available at Target. Her work is perfect for adding optimism and color to your space.
Partake
Partake creates baked goods free of the top nine allergens (wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soy, fish, sesame, and shellfish), plus they’re gluten-free and non-GMO. Their cookies, baking mixes, and breakfast options taste great and are inclusive for many dietary needs. If you love a classic chocolate chip cookie, their version is worth trying. (They often run promotions like free shipping through select dates.)
Pipcorn
Pipcorn makes heirloom popcorn that’s extra crunchy and smaller than traditional kernels. I first discovered them on Shark Tank and appreciate their branding and snackable format. Their products are convenient for travel, road trips, or anytime you want a satisfying, portable snack.
She Can (McBride Sisters)
I’m learning more about wine, and McBride Sisters offers a range of approachable, well-regarded wines. Their canned wine is particularly popular for convenience and variety. If you’re a wine enthusiast or looking to explore new, accessible options, check out their selection.
Homebody
If you enjoy baths and self-care rituals, Homebody is a must-try. Their blends feature vibrant colors and formulations made with antioxidants, plant-based botanicals, organically grown herbs, superfoods, adaptogens, vitamins, salts, and moisturizing oils. The “Full Spectrum of Possibilities” bath blend comes highly recommended for a restorative soak.
These Black-owned brands span wellness, beauty, food, and home, and each brings thoughtfully crafted products that I personally use or admire. If you have more favorite businesses to add, please leave them in the comments so we can continue supporting and amplifying these creators.
