Spread or dip this caramel on apples, pretzels, or use it in desserts. It’s quick to make with just a few simple ingredients.
Ingredients
- 2-3 cups pitted dates
- 1/2 tbsp vanilla (adjust based on preference)
- 1/2 tsp flaky sea salt
- 3-4 tbsp water
Instructions
-
Soak the pitted dates in hot water for 10–20 minutes until soft. Drain and discard any pits if present.
-
Place the softened dates in a food processor with 3 tablespoons of water, the vanilla, and the flaky sea salt.
-
Pulse the mixture, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until it becomes smooth and spreadable. Add another tablespoon of water if a thinner consistency is desired.
-
Serve immediately with apples, pretzels, or use it in desserts. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 5–7 days.
